Second sculpt for the month of June. This long hair beauty was fun to work on. Don't forget we still have 2 more to go from week 52 sketches!
I've got a little bit of anatomy work here this week. I'm making more progress, overall not much reference was used during this study. My weakest area is the back muscle groups. If I do spend more time on this I would address areas in this order; hand, forearm, ears, eyes.
Similar to last weeks post during my warm up sketching I landed on a interesting design. That I then took directly into Zbrush and sculpted out. I am enjoying this faster pace work and I'll probably do a few more of these in the future.
I'm not gonna lie, I had some difficulty getting this week's posted. Most the work I had don't over the course of the week but actually getting to sit down, draft, & compose this post took a lot of effort.
This week I worked on a self-portrait study. This was inspired by my day jobs newsletter who asked for a head shot of myself so I took it one step further.
More eyes for this weeks work. The human eye is interesting in it's design. Not only do they express a lot of emotion they are very personalized for each individual. Then comes the structure and placement. Symmetrical positions on the face surrounded by asymmetrical organic forms; don't get me started with eye movement... asymmetrical synchronization.
Made some good progress on this guy. Might be over working it a bit. Time to set him aside and work on something new.
This week I haven't had much time to focus on art, so here are some of the sketches I did accomplish.
